Hokkaido University Participated in BIO International Convention 2025
Hokkaido University participated in the “BIO International Convention 2025,” one of the world’s largest biotechnology events, held in Boston, USA, from June 16 to 19, 2025.
The convention gathered 10,617 participants from 5,504 organizations across 55 countries, and over 60,000 business matching meetings took place. The venue hosted a variety of programs, including corporate exhibitions, startup pitches, academic showcases, and more, fostering collaboration among a diverse group of stakeholders.
Hokkaido University presented 37 technology assets to both domestic and international pharmaceutical companies. These assets covered a broad range of fields, including neurological disorders, drug delivery systems (DDS), immune diseases, oncology, infectious diseases, and diagnostic technologies. Approximately 50 one-on-one meetings were held with selected companies. These pre-arranged discussions yielded numerous productive outcomes, such as potential licensing opportunities, consideration of Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), and prospects for collaborative research.
As a new initiative, we tailored our proposals to each company, emphasizing technological synergies and practical applications of Hokkaido University’s research.
Looking ahead, we will continue following up with the companies we met, pursue negotiations for joint research and licensing, and further enhance the global visibility and impact of the university’s technological capabilities.
